Onoriode Ezewu, a man born in Nigeria, continues to feature on the United States Department of Labor Office of Inspector General most wanted list. He faces charges of concealment money laundering linked to fraudulent unemployment claims that exceeded one million dollars.
Ezewu, whose date of birth is recorded as 24 October 1987, is described as a Black male of Nigerian birth. He stands approximately five feet eleven inches tall, weighs around 202 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe he is currently residing in Nigeria. An arrest warrant remains active following earlier breaches of pre trial conditions.
In January 2021, prosecutors charged Ezewu with fifteen counts of concealment money laundering. The allegations centre on a scheme that used stolen identities to file false Unemployment Insurance and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims. The fraud also extended to the Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan programme and generated losses of more than one million dollars.
Ezewu was initially arrested and appeared in court. He later violated the terms of his pre trial release, prompting the issuance of a fresh arrest warrant. The case is managed by the Atlanta field office of the Department of Labor Office of Inspector General.
