The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, 8 October 2026, secured the conviction of three men before Justice Aishatu Wodu Bawa of the State High Court sitting in Niger State.
The commission named the convicts as Messrs Wisdom Adeton, Godwin Prince Innocent and Barak Adetona. It said they were successfully prosecuted for offences relating to fraud within Suleja, Niger State.
Identification boards published with the commission’s announcement record the alleged offence in each case as internet fraud. The board for Mr Barak Adetona carries case reference 0831/2026, lists the unit as CMIFS, and is dated 21 July 2026. The board for Mr Godwin Prince Innocent carries case reference 0836/2026, lists the unit as PES, and bears the same date. A third board, shown with Mr Wisdom Adeton, also records internet fraud. On that board the surname is written as Adetona.
The EFCC statement, issued on Friday, 9 October 2026, does not state the sentences imposed, whether the convicts pleaded guilty, or the sums said to have been obtained. It also does not publish the full charges or name any victims.
The prosecutions were conducted by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate, although the convictions were entered by the Niger State High Court. The commission directed readers to its website for further reports.
