The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of Hassan Muhammed Ilyasu, also known as Jason Momoa, for impersonation.
The conviction was recorded on Thursday, 8 October 2026, before Justice A.A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna. The commission disclosed the outcome on its official X account on Friday, 9 October 2026.
Ilyasu was convicted on a charge of impersonation. The EFCC statement did not set out the sentence, the plea entered, or the circumstances of the offence beyond the identity used by the convict and the court before which the case was heard.
The case adds to a run of impersonation convictions obtained by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate before the state high court. In earlier matters this year, the directorate prosecuted defendants who had used false identities on social media platforms, with several of those cases ending in guilty pleas and terms of imprisonment, often with an option of a fine and orders for the forfeiture of devices and proceeds.
