Lagos, Nigeria – Air Peace has issued a strong condemnation of the disruptive conduct exhibited by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a prominent Nigerian politician from Edo State, at Murtala Muhammed Airport on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The incident, which occurred at Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall), significantly disrupted airport operations and led to widespread inconvenience for passengers.
The senator arrived at approximately 06:10 AM for Flight P47120, scheduled to depart for Abuja at 06:30 AM. However, as the boarding process had closed in line with Air Peace’s standard on-time departure policy, the flight departed as scheduled. Upon being informed of the missed flight, Senator Oshiomhole allegedly resorted to violence, physically assaulting staff and forcibly barricading the terminal’s entrance. His actions included sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, effectively preventing other passengers from entering the terminal.
This unacceptable behaviour caused significant disruption to ongoing operations and affected numerous travellers scheduled for various flights. In response, Air Peace swiftly activated an operational contingency plan, redirecting affected passengers through an alternate terminal to ensure the continuity of their travel plans.
The airline expressed deep sadness that a high-profile figure displayed such unbecoming and disruptive conduct towards fellow passengers and personnel. Air Peace reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on violence or any form of aggression against its staff and passengers. The airline urged all guests to remain civil and cooperative, emphasising that aviation operations are governed by strict timelines and safety protocols.
Air Peace remains committed to upholding these standards while delivering safe and timely services to the Nigerian public. The airline stressed its dedication to discipline, integrity, and respect for due process, asserting that no individual, regardless of influence, is above these values.
