President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Lagos for Abuja this evening, bringing to an end a six day visit to Nigeria’s former seat of government.
He arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, 29 September, after spending his annual vacation in London and Paris.
While in Lagos, the President addressed the nation on 1 October to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day anniversary.
Later that day, he attended the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts for the national premiere of MKO. The documentary chronicles the life, political struggle and enduring legacy of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, together with the historic June 12 struggle for democracy.
On Sunday, President Tinubu also visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, at the Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.
The details were contained in a State House press release issued on 5 October 2026 by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
