EFCC Intensifies Hunt for Eight Wanted in CBEX Crypto Fraud

Abuja, Nigeria – 15 May 2025
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ramped up its pursuit of eight individuals implicated in a massive fraud linked to the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX). The agency announced significant progress in its investigation, which centres on alleged fraudulent activities involving multiple actors in the cryptocurrency platform.

The wanted individuals are Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Adefowora Abiodun Olanipekun, Johnson Okiroh Ofienolu, Israel Mbalika, Joseph Michiro Kabera, and Serah Michiro. The EFCC noted that Ellie Bitar of CBEX Solutions Ltd., previously on the wanted list, has been removed following new evidence that clears his involvement.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the EFCC underscored its commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice. The agency is collaborating with global law enforcement to track and apprehend the suspects, ensuring no stone is left unturned. “The EFCC is making good progress in its investigations,” the statement read. “We will not relent in our efforts to hold every actor involved in these fraudulent dealings accountable.”

The CBEX case has drawn significant attention due to the scale of the alleged fraud, which has reportedly affected numerous investors. The EFCC’s intensified efforts signal a broader crackdown on cryptocurrency-related crimes in Nigeria, as authorities seek to protect the public from financial scams.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted individuals is urged to contact the EFCC or the nearest law enforcement agency.
