Kwankwaso Condemns ADC Campaign Attacks and Affirms No Withdrawal from Race

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has expressed deep concern over the conduct of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign team. He described attacks directed at himself, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, and their party as unnecessary and unhelpful.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Kwankwaso said the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appeared more intent on creating mischief against the NDC and its ticket than on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of its own candidate. He noted that the NDC had consistently placed its credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians. The council, he added, had sought to portray the NDC ticket as working for the ruling party or as planning to withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC candidate at the last minute.

Kwankwaso advised the ADC campaign team to direct its energy instead toward rebutting serious allegations levelled against its candidate by Vice President Kashim Shettima. He warned that the council might attempt to mislead NDC supporters on the eve of the election by claiming that the party intended to step aside in the ADC’s favour.

He stated clearly that the NDC would not withdraw its candidature for the ADC or any other party. The ticket, he said, is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any of its candidates. Claims suggesting otherwise are unfounded and should be treated as such.

Kwankwaso described the APC led government as having failed Nigerians and said the ADC offered no better alternative. He presented the NDC ticket as a credible and viable option, supported by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria. He called it a healing ticket committed to uniting the country and addressing critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors.

He urged all NDC supporters and well meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of the party, which he described as the most formidable and viable opposition in the country.
