The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that the Preliminary Register of Voters is now accessible online, following the physical display conducted at Registration Areas across the country.
In a press statement issued on 26 October 2026, INEC confirmed that the physical display took place nationwide from 9 to 15 October 2026. The exercise, carried out under Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2026, allowed registered voters to inspect their particulars and submit claims and objections as required by law.
The Commission acknowledged concerns raised by Nigerians and other stakeholders about the desirability of online access in addition to the physical display. In response, and to further its commitment to transparency, accessibility and public confidence, INEC has made the same Preliminary Register available on its online platform at https://display.inecnigeria.org.
This online measure is intended to complement the physical display already completed and to enable wider public access to the Register. The Commission is continuing to process claims and objections arising from the exercise. It expects to certify and publish the Final Register of Voters on 15 December 2026.
Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, signed the statement. He expressed appreciation for the continued interest and constructive engagement of Nigerians and stakeholders, and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability and the faithful implementation of the Electoral Act 2026.
