Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar led a delegation on a condolence visit to the family of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at his residence in Abuja this evening.
The visit follows the recent death of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the mother of the former governor.
In a post on X, Mr Abubakar expressed solidarity with the family during this deeply difficult time following the irreplaceable loss of their beloved mother.
“I share with Mallam the deep pain of this loss, and we prayed for the repose of the soul of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai,” he wrote.
Mr Abubakar said he was pleased to observe that Mallam El-Rufai remained strong in faith, with his spirit unbroken and not downcast. He encouraged the former governor to be strengthened in faith, noting that “this too shall pass”.
He concluded by praying that the soul of “Mama” be granted a place in paradise.
