Aregbesola Urges ADC Supporters to Focus on Issues

Lagos, Nigeria – Rauf Aregbesola, a prominent Nigerian politician, received a warm welcome from supporters and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) upon his arrival in Lagos on Friday. Addressing the crowd, Aregbesola called for unity and a focus on substantive issues as the party seeks to establish itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Expressing gratitude to those who turned out to greet him, Aregbesola emphasised the importance of maintaining civility in political discourse. “The task before us is immense, and I reminded everyone that we do not need to fight, insult, or attack anyone,” he stated. He urged supporters to rise above personal attacks and instead challenge opponents with a simple question: “Are Nigerians better off today than they were before?”

Aregbesola encouraged ADC members to ground their arguments in facts, highlighting pressing issues such as food inflation, the struggling economy, the rising cost of living, and the deepening poverty affecting millions of Nigerians. “Let our debates remain focused on the issues that matter,” he said, calling for clear and confident articulation of the party’s vision.

The former Osun State governor underscored the ADC’s role as a necessary force for Nigeria’s progress and long-term sustainability. “Explain why our new political home, the ADC, represents a credible and necessary alternative,” he told supporters, positioning the party as a solution to the country’s challenges.
