Tinubu to Urgently Meet Trump in the Coming Days- Daniel Bwala

02 November 2025

In a  statement on social media, Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign and currently Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication has underscored the common ground between Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and US President Donald Trump in combating insurgency and terrorism.

Bwala highlighted that both leaders share a keen interest in addressing threats to humanity posed by such activities. He noted that during his previous term, President Trump had provided significant assistance to Nigeria by authorising the sale of arms, which President Tinubu has effectively utilised to achieve substantial progress in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

Bwala also addressed potential differences in perspectives regarding the nature of terrorist targeting in Nigeria. He suggested that any variances such as whether attacks primarily affect Christians or impact individuals of all faiths and none would be ironed out during an upcoming meeting between the two presidents.

This anticipated dialogue signals a potential strengthening of bilateral ties, building on past collaborations.

Neither the Nigerian presidency nor the White House has issued an official response to Bwala’s comments at the time of writing.
