Lagos, 20 June 2025 – The National Coalition Group (NNCG) has formally submitted an application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA). The application, dated 19 June 2025, was received by INEC on 20 June 2025, marking a significant step towards expanding Nigeria’s political landscape.
The request, signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, the Protem National Chairman of the association, outlines the group’s ambition to establish ADA as a fully registered political party. The application letter highlights the party’s proposed name, the All Democratic Alliance, with the acronym ADA and the slogan “Justice for All.” The party’s National Secretariat address is included on the association’s official letterhead.
In the submission, the NNCG provided comprehensive details about the party’s identity, including its logo, which incorporates symbolic colours and a corn (maize) emblem, representing the party’s values. The application also includes the party’s manifesto, detailing its ideology, and a constitution that aligns with Section 40 and 222 of the Nigerian Constitution, Section 75 of the Electoral Act 2022, and global democratic principles.
Additional documents submitted to INEC include the party’s flag, which displays its name, acronym, and slogan, as well as the minutes of the meeting where the decision to seek registration was made. The application underscores the group’s commitment to adhering to legal and democratic standards.
Chief Rickets expressed optimism about the process, stating in the letter, “While we eagerly await further action from the commission on the next step forward towards attaining our desired goal, please accept the consideration of our highest respect.”
INEC is expected to review the application and provide guidance on the subsequent steps for the All Democratic Alliance to achieve full registration. The emergence of ADA could signal a new chapter in Nigeria’s political discourse, with the party poised to promote its vision of justice and democratic values.
