Abuja, 9 July 2025 – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a stern warning to the public, distancing itself from a circulating list of alleged state chairmen and condemning fraudulent online platforms claiming to register members for the party.
In a press release signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary and spokesperson for the opposition coalition, the party clarified that it has not appointed any state chairmen, contrary to claims spreading across social media. The ADC urged Nigerians to disregard such information, labelling it as fake news.
The party further denounced reports of fictitious online platforms designed to deceive unsuspecting citizens into paying for party registration. The ADC described these schemes as attempts by fraudsters to exploit Nigerians’ trust and swindle them of their hard-earned money.
To avoid falling victim to such scams, the ADC advised the public to verify all party-related information exclusively through its official communication channels, particularly the X account of its National Publicity Secretary, @BolajiADC. “Any information that does not emanate from the appropriate communication channels of the party and verified on the X page of the National Publicity Secretary should be disregarded,” the statement read.
The ADC also assured Nigerians that details of its activities, including those related to the coalition of opposition political parties, would be communicated through legitimate and verified channels in due course. The party called on citizens to remain vigilant and consult widely to avoid being misled by fraudulent actors.
