Abeokuta, Ogun State – 11 July 2025 – Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 48 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
The operation was carried out by operatives from the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, following extensive surveillance and reliable intelligence that connected the suspects to various online fraudulent schemes.
Among the items seized during the raid were a pump-action rifle, five luxury vehicles, a motorcycle, multiple mobile phones, laptop computers, and documents deemed incriminating by the authorities.
The EFCC stated that the suspects will face charges in court upon the completion of ongoing investigations.
