Obidient Movement Hosts South West Conference in Lagos
Lagos, Nigeria – The Obidient Movement, a grassroots political organisation, held its South West Conference in Lagos, bringing together members and stakeholders from Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, and Lagos. The event, aimed at fostering unity and mobilising support, focused on the power of information and grassroots engagement.
Dr Yunusa Tanko, a prominent figure in the movement, highlighted key outcomes of the conference. The group unveiled a new registration portal for the Obidient Movement, showcasing a demo identity card to streamline membership processes and strengthen their database for a united front.
A significant announcement was the enrollment of Alabi Quadiri, known as the "Obidient Boy," into a skill acquisition programme in collaboration with DESSTECHSANCTUARY.ORG. By 30 June 2025, Quadiri will be offered admission to study Basic Computer Skills, Information Technology Skills, and Multimedia Communication Skills, alongside technical and soft-skill technology innovations.
The conference underscored the movement’s commitment to empowerment and connectivity. Dr Tanko praised Lagos for its vibrant participation, stating, "Lagos did not disappoint us. Eko oni baje o!" The event marks a pivotal step in the Obidient Movement’s efforts to mobilise and educate supporters across Nigeria’s South West region.
