EFCC Arrests Content Creator for Naira Abuse in Kaduna
Kaduna, Nigeria – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended a social media content creator, Muhammed Kabir Sa'ad, in Kaduna for allegedly abusing Naira notes, an act prohibited under Nigerian law.
The EFCC's Kaduna Zonal Directorate acted on intelligence following a video posted by Sa'ad on his TikTok and Instagram accounts under the handle @youngcee0066. In the video, Sa'ad is seen throwing Naira notes onto the floor and deliberately stepping on them. He further provoked authorities by challenging EFCC officers in Hausa to arrest him if they could.
Operatives tracked Sa'ad to the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna State through surveillance. He was arrested and taken to the EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate for questioning. The commission has confirmed that Sa'ad will face charges in court upon completion of the interrogation.
The EFCC continues to crack down on actions that undermine the integrity of Nigeria’s currency, urging citizens to respect the Naira and adhere to regulations governing its use.
