Obi Boosts Kaduna’s Education and Healthcare with Donations

Kaduna, Nigeria – On Wednesday, 9 July 2025, Peter Obi, a prominent Nigerian politician and advocate for human development, visited four educational institutions in Kaduna State, reinforcing his commitment to advancing education and healthcare across Nigeria. His tour, which included substantial financial donations and motivational addresses, underscored his belief that investing in these sectors is pivotal to building a secure and united nation.

Obi began his visit at the Muhammad Sambo Memorial Islamic Institute, established by Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigachukwu. There, he pledged ongoing support, assuring the institution of his dedication to their educational efforts both now and in the future. His commitment reflects his broader vision of fostering human capital development through accessible education.

Next, Obi visited the Madarasatul Hidayyatul Auladi Muslimima Almajiri School in Kawo, an institution he has supported on five previous occasions. He donated ₦5 million to further the school’s developmental projects, emphasising that no child should be denied education, regardless of their circumstances. “No matter their location, we can take education to them,” Obi stated, highlighting education as a critical tool for alleviating poverty.

At the Womenhood College of Health Sciences and Technology, Obi continued his support with another ₦5 million donation. He praised the institution’s role in training women in health-related fields, particularly in rural communities, recognising their contribution to empowering women and strengthening healthcare delivery.

The final stop was St. Gerald’s College of Nursing Sciences, where Obi made a ₦10 million donation to aid the training of competent and compassionate nurses. Addressing the students, he stressed the transformative power of investing in education and healthcare, stating, “We are not just building schools or hospitals; we are building the future of a secure, productive, and united Nigeria.”

Throughout his visits, Obi reiterated his philosophy of leadership, asserting that true leadership is measured by the lives touched, not the titles held. He called for a collective effort to build a nation where no child is left behind, irrespective of region, religion, or background.

Obi’s actions in Kaduna align with his longstanding advocacy for inclusive development, positioning education and healthcare as cornerstones of Nigeria’s progress.
