NNPC Faces Sabotage Amid Long-Standing Corruption Claims

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has issued a stark public notice, alleging a coordinated sabotage campaign targeting its leadership. This comes amidst its historical reputation as Nigeria’s epicentre of corruption, a narrative the company is now fiercely contesting as it pushes for transformation.

The notice claims that a syndicate of known and faceless actors, both within and outside the organisation, is waging a campaign of misinformation. This group is said to be spreading lies and fabricating reports to discredit the leadership and derail the ongoing efforts to transform NNPC Ltd into a corruption-free, performance-driven energy company. The initiative aligns with the mandate of His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Tactics include planting scandalous and fabricated reports to mislead the public and undermine the commitment of the workforce and reform-minded Nigerians. The management asserts these are calculated efforts by those threatened by the push for transparency, accountability, and change, evidenced by the lengths to which they will go to obstruct the transformation of Nigeria’s foremost energy institution.

Despite the surge of defamatory content expected in the coming days and weeks, NNPC Ltd remains undeterred. The transformation is underway, and the company insists no amount of sabotage will halt its progress. The management urges its dedicated staff, stakeholders, and patriotic Nigerians to stay focused, ignore the noise, and not be discouraged.
