Cotonou, Bénin – On 17 June 2025, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Patrice Talon, President of the Republic of Bénin, to deliver an invitation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the inaugural West Africa Economic Summit (WAES). The summit, scheduled for 20-21 June 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria, aims to foster economic cooperation and regional integration across West Africa.
During the visit, Odumegwu-Ojukwu presented the summit as a vital platform for shaping the region’s economic future. The meeting, marked by a warm and hospitable reception, saw President Talon share insightful perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for West Africa’s development.
